Arudha Lagna master class video notes

This masterclass by Pandit Sanjay Rath focuses on Ārūḍha Pada (the image or perception of a person) and how it interacts with the Dāśā system in Vedic Astrology.
Below are the detailed notes from the session:
1. Fundamental Concept of Ārūḍha Pada
 * Definition: Ārūḍha (also called Pada Lagna) represents how the world perceives you, which is often "divorced from reality." While the Lagna is the self (the reality), the Ārūḍha is the "image" stored in the minds of others [04:11].
 * The Mind’s Filter: Your mind interacts with the world through the Ārūḍha. It is the point from which the mind perceives various life departments (Bhavas) [04:39].
 * The Role of Moon: The Moon is the karaka (significator) of the Ārūḍha because it rules the mind and perceptions [43:08].
2. Calculating Ārūḍha Pada
 * Basic Rule: Count as many signs from the house lord as the lord is away from the house itself. For example, if the Aries Lagna Lord (Mars) is in the 2nd house (Taurus), the Ārūḍha is two houses away from Mars, which is Gemini [07:21].
 * The Kendra Exceptions: Because Kendras (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) are "Vishnu Sthanas" (pure states), specific riders apply:
   * If the Ārūḍha falls in the 1st or 7th house, it moves to the 10th house [08:31].
   * If the Ārūḍha falls in the 4th or 10th house, it stays in/moves to the 4th house [08:43].
3. Houses from the Ārūḍha Lagna
Pandit Rath defines specific meanings for houses when counted from the Ārūḍha [15:23]:
 * 1st House: Aham (The perceived self).
 * 2nd House: Dhanam (Wealth).
 * 3rd House: Mrityu (Death/Vitality - note: death is seen here, while the 8th is longevity) [15:41].
 * 6th House: Ripu (Real enemies and weaknesses).
 * 7th House: Badhaka (The real obstacle in life). A single malefic here acts as a significant "blocker" [16:16].
 * 9th House: Raksha (Protection and Dharma).
 * 11th & 12th Houses: Gains (Ayah) and Losses (Vyaya). Planets in the 12th from Ārūḍha show where you waste energy or money [17:46].
4. Key Yoga: Maharaja Yoga (International Fame)
A recurring theme in the lecture is that International Fame is seen from the Ārūḍha, not the Lagna.
 * The Formula: A relationship (conjunction, exchange, or aspect) between the 9th Lord and 10th Lord as counted from the Ārūḍha Lagna [26:50].
 * Examples:
   * Mahatma Gandhi: 9th Lord (Jupiter) in the 10th house from Ārūḍha [26:35].
   * Bruce Lee: 9th Lord (Venus) and 10th Lord (Mercury) conjoined in Libra [33:15].
   * Narendra Modi: Exchange between the 9th and 10th lords (Jupiter and Rahu) from Gemini Ārūḍha [41:11].
5. Case Study Highlights
 * Narendra Modi: His success against enemies is attributed to a debilitated Moon in the 6th from Ārūḍha. In Ārūḍha rules, a weak benefit or strong malefic in the 6th creates a "Raj Yoga" by defeating opponents [43:57].
 * Bruce Lee: His sudden death and posthumous fame (Enter the Dragon) are visible through the interaction of the 3rd house (death) and 9th/10th houses (fame) from his Ārūḍha [38:13].
 * Mukesh Ambani: Analysis of wealth showing that almost every planet aspects his 11th house from Ārūḍha, except the Moon. This indicated only his mother (Moon) could compel him to part with wealth (the split with his brother) [01:16:41].
6. Specialized Topic: Gender and Transformation
Pandit Rath discusses "Sex Change" or gender perception using the Sign of Cancer (the Forest of Parvati).
 * Rule: Male planets entering Cancer (Karka) are traditionally seen as undergoing a transformation [01:19:31].
 * He uses charts like Jin Xing and Roberta Cowell to show how the Ārūḍha Lord’s relationship with Cancer and the Dāśā of the Moon/Mercury can trigger gender reassignment [01:21:53].
Conclusion: To understand how a person lives their life and how the world reacts to them, one must use the Chandra Rules (Ārūḍha) alongside the Surya Rules (Lagna) [01:31:10].
